Maryse Levenson has been addicted to many Fiber Art techniques for most of her life. At age five, her maternal grandmother introduced her to knitting and embroidery; a few short years later she received her first sewing lesson. Maryse discovered weaving through a friend and it became her new passion until her first Kumihimo experience in Kyoto, Japan where she took classes at the Adachi School of Kumihimo in 1988. Maryse is on a continual quest for new techniques and ideas relating to her many fiber interests.
Maryse is a member of many Colorado Weaving Guilds, the Handweavers Guild of America and Complex Weavers. She is also a member the English Braid Society and the Melbourne, Australia, Kumihimo Group. She gives Kumihimo workshops and seminars and has participated in numerous juried exhibits throughout the US and abroad.
Maryse shares her Colorado Springs studio with Princess Minette LaChatte. For more information about her activities, please consult her web site at: www.fiberexpression.com.
