Shaping and Special Effects for the Handweaver

Knowing both ends of the spectrum can create very unique pieces.

Combination of weave structures and yarn choices will lead the weaver to unlimited variations in the finished cloth. Emphasizing the shaping and texture possibilities, we will be exploring fiber choices such as polyester, crepe spun, and stainless steel. We will also explore dyeing techniques such as felt resist, disperse dyes and cross dyeing.
